Regina police have now charged a third person in connection to an April 24 homicide that occurred just east of downtown. A 16-year-old boy is now the third person to be charged in connection to the death. He faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of failing to comply with disposition. The update comes after 23-year-old Dontay Bellegarde and 33-year-old Keli Stonechild were also charged with first-degree murder after a man was found fatally injured early in the morning on April 24. The 16-year-old’s name will not be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police were called to the 800 block of Victoria Avenue where the man was found gravely injured before EMS pronounced him dead a short time later. The initial death investigation led to road closures in the area for part of the day. Police said the victim’s name will not be released at the family’s request. The man’s death marked Regina’s third homicide of 2025. Anyone with information that could help the ongoing investigation is asked to call Regina police or Crime Stoppers.
