Southey RCMP have charged a suspect following a recent string of break-ins across the community. In the early morning hours of Feb. 10, Southey RCMP received reports of three separate break-ins. Around 1:35 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious man knocking on the door of a home. Five minutes later, police received a second call about a man inside a different residence. Investigators determined the suspect forcibly entered the home by damaging the door. Just after 2 a.m., officers were alerted to a third home where the same man was reportedly inside. An investigation confirmed the same suspect was the involved in all of the reported incidents. RCMP noted no items were reported as missing and no one was injured during any of the incidents. Officers patrolled the area and arrested a suspect in Southey. As a result of the investigation, Southey RCMP have charged a 46-year-old man from George Gordon First Nation with two counts of being unlawfully in a dwelling and one count of mischief over $5,000. The accused is set to appear in Regina Provincial Court on March 4.
